#34. Living Virtuously To Empower Humanity - Linda Kavelin-Popov
Linda Kavelin Popov is a renowned author, international speaker on personal and global transformation and co-founder of The Virtues Project. After the seed was planted in 1988, it officially launched in 1991 alongside her husband, Dr. Dan Popov, and her brother, John Kavelin, The Virtues Project aims to inspire the practice of virtues in everyday life. This global initiative has reached over 120 countries and has been recognized by the United Nations as a “model global program for families of all cultures.” Linda’s efforts in promoting virtues have earned her the title of “a cultural creative” by Time Magazine.
Her work extends beyond the foundation of The Virtues Project. As a psychotherapist, Linda has designed teen suicide and violence prevention programs used across U.S. cities. She has also served as a consultant to various corporations and governmental agencies, offering her expertise in organizational development and spiritual care. Linda's dedication to positive change has led her to facilitate healing retreats and workshops for indigenous communities worldwide, from the Arctic Circle to villages in Fiji and First Nations communities, including across Canada.
Linda Kavelin Popov is also an accomplished author, with her books including "The Family Virtues Guide," "The Virtues Project Educator’s Guide," "Sacred Moments: Meditations on the Virtues," and "A Pace of Grace: The Virtues of a Sustainable Life and Dreaming At The Crossroads of Change". These works have been translated into more than a dozen languages, further spreading her message of virtue and positive transformation globally. Her literary contributions provide practical advice on living a virtues-based life, drawing on wisdom from the world's sacred traditions.
In this episode, Steve has the honour and privilege of asking Linda her thoughts and reflections on not only her life but on The Virtues and humanity. The significance of this discussion and availability of this to be listened to, shared and enjoyed for many years to come is certainly invaluable. Enjoy.
